Your a Star!

My daughter has just passed her GCSE's and is off to Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) in September.  I am so proud of her and a little bit jealous because it looks FAB and I want to go too! Here is the congratulations card I made her.
I used a stamp set and matching punch set from the new annual catalogue called Pictogram Punches, and the gorgeous grunge stamp set I always seem to use when making a card for Becca! Colours are Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry and Smokey Slate, I did some embossing using the Smokey Slate embossing Powder.
Here's some close ups:

A New Start!

Hello everyone, longtime no speak. I've been taking a break for the last few months but hopefully things are now on an even keel, crossed fingers and toes - I can cross my big toe now since I broke it the second time! So, I am taking the plunge again, (don't know where all these sea faring metaphors are coming from) and starting again with Stampin' Up! I am just off to open my Starter Pack parcel now. The great thing about the Demonstrator Starter Kit is that you get to choose your own stuff from the annual catalogue and from the new seasonal catalogue which isn't live yet (a perk of being a demonstrator) so you don't end up with two of everything if you start up again.
Off to play with my new stuff so watch this space ........

Inspiration Journal #2

Here are more pages from my inspiration journal. These little journals are really easy to make and only use one piece of paper/card, I used whisper white.
The colours are pool party, calypso coral, crisp cantaloupe, pear pizzazz and pistachio pudding. I used gorgeous grunge and the hardwood stamps.
I did a lot of doodling as well, it was great colouring them in with markers - takes me back to my school days.
Here are the tags that went in the pockets. I used the scallop tag topper punch to make them.
 The back of the tags:
As I said yesterday I made this from following Jenny's Inspiration Station Class, why not pop over and take a look here.

Inspiration Journal

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while. I have had no mojo lately, I'm sure everyone gets that way sometimes. I found Jennibellie's Journal Workshop, she has a great free class - Inspiration Station and thought it would be a great way to get my mojo working. An inspiration station is basically a box which you put all your favourite goodies in, you know, the ones you have been hoarding for years. Jenny then shows you how to make an inspiration journal.
Here is my inspiration station:

As nearly all my crafting things are of course Stampin' Up I usedink pads, markers and stamps to make my journal.  Here is the front page of my inspiration journal:
I really enjoyed making this inspiration journal, I will show you more another day, I would recommend popping over to Jenny's  ning site.

Happy Birthday Accordion Card

Yet another accordion card, I love them! In contrast to yesterday this one is very bright using pacific point, crushed curry and real red.
As this is for my work colleague I made lots of places on the back of the card for us all to write our best wishes.
Here it is folded up:
I used the Morning Post Alphabet, See Ya Later and Banner Party stamp set and banner punch, the last three being Sale-a-Bration Products. I also used the chevron punch.
Here is a close up of the sentiments taken from See Ya Later.

Tag Topper Punch Accordion Card

Well, here is Julie's Accordion Card I mentioned yesterday. I love this card designed by Julie, it uses quite a few Sale-a-Bration products, Sweet Sorbet DSP, banner party and the See Ya Later stamp set!

Julie used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to make the cards closure:

The colour combo is taken from the Sweet Sorbet DSP, pool party, summer starfruit, crisp cantaloupe and pistachio pudding.

Chevron Punch Showcase & Colour Me Challenge

I have succumbed to buying the Chevron Border Punch and I love it, why didn't I get it earlier?! I had great fun using it in this accordion card I made. As some of you may know life is a little bumpy in the Smith household at the moment and if it wasn't for my wonderful brother and sister-in-law Neil and Sue I don't think I could cope. Here is the card I made to say Thank You. I adapted the card from the accordion card I made in Julie's training, (I don't think I've showed you it yet), Julie used a 12" x 12" but I used A4 size card. The colour combination comes from the Colour Me Challenge #8
Here is my card, I had to put it on the mantle piece to get it all in.

This is the back, I used the chevron punch to punch the card base so you can see the colours from the card mats coming through. I used the punch on the card mats so there are 'brown sugar'  chevrons on the bottom border. The top border inside is made from the punched out bits.
Here it is folded up:

Stamp sets used were, Morning Post Alphabet and You're Lovely.

New Home Note Set

As I said in my last post I have some new neighbours so I thought it would be nice to make them a little gift and card. I used the Sale-a-bration banner punch and matching stamp set. I have gone for the colour scheme of real red, coastal cabana and crumb cake again. This is a really quick and easy card, I used a stampin-write marker and white gel pen to make the faux stitching.
I made four matching notelets and holder as my gift. I left the inside of the cards blank so my neighbour can use them as change of address cards or just little cards to say hello. I made the holder using a sheet of A4 card again, the DSP is from the Fresh Prints DSP stack in the Spring catalogue.
 These are the matching notelets:
 Here is the set altogether:

ILWS Sale-a-Bration Blog Hop

Hi today is In Love With Stamping's Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop, you may have come from Sandra's Blog. There are lots of gorgeous Sale-A-Bration products to choose from and I decided to hi-light the Petal Parade Stamp Set and Sweet Sorbet DSP.
I adapted this tutorial from Rachel Tessman which used a sheet of 12 x 12  to make a note holder. I used a piece of crisp cantaloupe A4 card and decorated it with some Sweet Sorbet DSP and flowers stamped using the Petal Parade stamp set.
Stampin' Up' notelets and envelopes fit perfectly inside so it makes a lovely gift.
Here are the notelets I decorated to go inside the holder:
I love making these notelet holders, I made another set for my new Neighbour which I'll show you another day.Thank you for popping over, the next blog is the lovely Donna's.

Boxed Thank You and Colour Challenge

If, like me, you often browse pinterest for inspiration you will have noticed 'Box in a Card' cards are very popular at the moment, they are surprisingly easy to make too, there quite a few tutorials on you tube! For my swaps for training a few weeks ago I made 20 so I adapted the size to make a 'mini' version, (you can make two card bases out of one sheet of A4 card) so I didn't run out of card. Unfortunately I can't show you my swaps as I forgot to take a photo (duh). So I thought I would make one as my entry to the Fab Friday colour challenge
I used some new products from the Spring/Summer catalogue, the Fresh Prints Designer Series paper stack, Petite Petals stamp set and matching punch and some 'old' sets, Hello Lovely and Flower Shop. Although it looks quite an extravagant card it is actually quite economical to make as with careful cutting I only needed one sheet from the paper stack.

Here's a close up, I think the coastal cabana, real red and crumb cake colour scheme give it quite a retro feel:

From the side,

.....and folded flat.

I have been using this colour scheme a lot lately as it matches the fresh print paper stack so whatch out for more of it.

The Big Shots had a Baby!

Spring Sneak Peak

As you may know there will be a new Seasonal, Spring/Summer catalogue launching on the 28th January. One of the great perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is that you get to see all the new products before anyone else. This is the Wedding Anniversary card that I made for Heather and Murray, I used a stamp set called Language of Love that will be in the new seasonal catalogue. The colour scheme is baked brown sugar and crisp cantaloupe:
The stamp -a -ma-jig came in very useful to line up those hearts. The full heart and small heart punches also match  so it is quick and easy to punch out the images.

Angry Bird Punch Art

As I said in my post yesterday it was Nicholas's 7th birthday last week. I don't know about you, but sometimes I find it hard to make cards for children but punch art is a great choice as you can make lots of different characters with it and I do have a LOT of punches! There are lots of punch art ideas on pinterest so I had a look and decided on Angry Birds, here is one by Jayne.
Here is my card:

Giggle Greetings 80th Birthday

I has a busy day on the 30th December as it was Uncle Frank's 80th Birthday, Nicholas (my cousin Sue's little boy) 7th Birthday and my cousin Heather's wedding anniversary. Heather and her husband  Murray were over from Canada for a few weeks so it was lovely to see them. Here is the card I made for Uncle Frank, I used the Giggle Greetings and Memorable Moments Stamp set:
can you spot the sneak peak of something from Sale-a-Bration 2014?

Snowflake Soiree Gift Bag

Just a quick post today. This gift bag is made using one sheet of A4, I used whisper white as it is not as heavy as card stock and I found it made a better bag. I stamped all over the sheet using the snowflake soiree stamp set is Midnight Muse and Soft Sky.
This bag is quite easy to make when you know how and folds flat so it's easy to store. I watched quite a few tutorials on you-tube and adapted measurements to make this. I will have to do a little tutorial one day.
