Delicate Doilies One Sheet Wonder #3

The last of the Delicate Doilies one sheet wonder cards. I will have to do these again in another colour way, I fancy a vintage look.

Here are all six cards together:
If you would like to try this one sheet wonder, here is my template you can use. If you find it useful please leave a comment and follow me, thanks.

Delicate Doilies One Sheet Wonder #2

Here are the next two cards we made using the delicate doilies one sheet wonder.  We made Christmas cards but just change the sentiments/colours and you have Birthday, Thank You cards.....etc.

I forgot to take a picture of the second card open but the front is shorter than the back so the end piece is actually on the inside of the card, if you get what I mean! The trim is made using the scallop trim border punch, another favourite.

Delicate Doilies One Sheet Wonder

We made a one sheet wonder at class on Wednesday, hello to Sue and Viv who joined us for the first time. A one sheet wonder is where you cut up a sheet of stamped paper or designer series paper to make several cards. We stamped a sheet of whisper white using the delicate doilies stamp set then cut it up to make six cards.  The colour way was midnight muse and pool party. This is a great way to make several cards quickly, we could have easily made 8 cards if we repeated some of the designs. Here are the first two cards we made:
The second card can be used as a gift card holder as it has a pocket inside.

The sentiments are from the Greetings of the Season stamp set which I am using a lot at the moment.

Forever Young and more Brayering.

I have definitely got the brayering bug, it's definitely something that you need to practise and experiment with. Todays card is a sunset using daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, real red and old olive, again I used a circle for the mask. The tree/swing is from the Forever Young stamp set and is stamped in early expresso, I got the idea for this from the amazing Michelle Zindorf's blog.
It is a flip flop card made using the label framelit dies. There is certainly room for improvement with my brayering but I enjoy it so you will have to just grin and bear it!

Lovely as a Tree, salt and brayering

One of my favourite stamp sets is Stampin' Up's Lovely as a Tree, it is so versatile, great for men's cards, sympathy, Christmas, etc. My first card is a very simple Christmas card, the sentiment is from greetings of the Season and the colour is Midnight Muse.

I then dusted my brayer off and tried a little winter landscape using pacific point, (my new favourite!) and a post-it note punched circle to mask my moon. The snowy effect was made by using table salt, sprinkle it over your card, roll it through the big shot then brush off, brayer as usual.

We practised brayering in the Wednesday class last week, doing some things for a calender we are making, I will show you it once we've finished. It was nice to try a new technique and some ladies took to it like a fish to water! If you would like to come along to one of my classes just let me know. I will be setting a  new schedule for next year so keep checking and if there is anything in particular you would like to do I will try and fit it into the schedule.

Open Sleigh Square Fancy Fold

The last of the Open Sleigh cards, (I think!), this is another fancy fold card. Start off with a square, this one was 8" x 8", score/fold in half both ways so when you open the card up its divided into quarters. Then score in half diagonally, (just one way), open up then push the corners with the diagonal fold in and the card should just fold up. I forgot to take photos of this so hope it makes sense.
Here's the card:
When you open it up:
It would be nice to put a photo inside. Just remember not to stick the ribbon on the back of the card otherwise it won't open, (oops!). Here are all the cards:

Open Sleigh Twisted Fold card

Another Open Sleigh card! This is a twist fold card, I saw this fold on an Inspiration Station by a very talented S.U. demonstrator whose name has slipped my mind (sorry) at Julies Team Training. Cut an A4 card in half length ways, use one half for your card base. Make a score from the top left corner to the bottom right, then fold it over.

Then score and fold it in half in the middle. use a piece of DSP 5mm smaller than your card base and score in the same way as the card but then cut on the score lines so you have four pieces to decorate your card.

I will show you the last card tomorrow.

Open Sleigh Gift Card holder

Sorry but there are more cards to show you from the Open Sleigh class.  These cards are a little different, we cut the front in half diagonally and then stuck the triangle inside to make a pocket for a gift card.

Here is another gift card holder made in exactly the same way but this time the card blank was an A4 card cut lengthways.

There are still more cards from this class to show you.....Sorry!!!

More Open Sleigh cards

Here are some more cards we made, the first one is a treat box card, these are easy to make once you've done one but I think they make a great change from the usual cards. This treat box only used items from peoples goody bags so they could make more at home.

Some more cards, we made these two together and swapped some of the cut off pieces over from one card to the other.

The inside of the card was also decorated:

Stampin' Up Open Sleigh

We had an all day class on Saturday. Everyone got a goody bag with the Open Sleigh Stamp Set, an ink pad, cherry cobbler glitter, some Be of Good Cheer DSP and lots of card.  We made lots of cards, some only using what was in the goody bag and others using extra accessories. Most of them were 'flash' cards so  only used the card base and a neutral and coloured card template and because it's for Christmas some DSP.
Here is the first card that only use what's in the bag and the second version was spruced up using the scallop trim border and boho blossoms flower punch.

I love this stamp set, it's got two nice sentiments as well as some lovely images and you can use the swirl any time of the year. The next card we made was a diorama card using the label framelits.
I will show you some more of the many cards we made tomorrow. If you would like to come to one of my all day or evening classes take a look at my class schedule and let me know. If my class is full I can always run it again with a few more people.

No Waste Criss Cross Card

I have been admiring some Criss Cross cards I've seen but wasn't sure how to make them. I had a look on you tube, (what would I do without it!) and it seemed a lot of card stock to use for one card but then I found this tutorial. The no waste criss cross card, you can make it out of half an A6 card blank by cutting your card front in half diagonally then flip the traingle you have cut off over to stick back on the card, (watch the video it will make sense - promise). My photo's are just a guide I found it better if the triangle still attached to the card is on the right side and not the left as in this picture. Just fold your card the other way to do this

Cut a piece of DSP 14.3 cm x 10cm then cut this in half diagonally as in card front, Flip a triangle over and adhere to your card front triangles, I used the festival of prints DSP stack as it's nearly the right size. I used the scallop trim border punch and added strips of that before sticking my card and making the pocket  I used a piece of card at back as a stand.
Here is my card, I used Greetings of the season and that new hostess set out the seasonal catalogue - the name has deserted me.  Colour scheme is cherry cobbler and lucky limeade and I added some tulle ribbon.

Accordion Christmas Tree

Long time no blog, sorry I have had a particularly nasty bug but hopefully I'm back.  I thought I would show you a case of the accordion Christmas Tree on page 181 of the annual catalogue. My friend had been trying to make it and got into a bit of a muddle so I said I'd have a try. I had a few goes then the next day found this tutorial which made it really easy. Here it is.

I used Polar Party as I haven't got No Peeking which is the one used in the catalogue. I used Greetings of the Season for the sentiment.

The front is Plain and just has a belly band to keep it shut as the main action is inside!
