Plane and Simple

Hi, I have been making some mens cards. I do find mens cards more difficult but the Plane and simple stamp set was really easy to use and there are no flowers or butterflies in sight.
This is the first of my plane and simple cards

Iused baja breeze and early espresso card stock and ink with made an apperture using the circle punch to make it a bit different. I sponged the whisper white card with baja breeze ink to make a sky but I don't think it shows up much in the photos. I will post another one tomorrow.

Easter Basket

Happy Easter. Here is something else I made using the daisies die and the scallop circle die, an Easter Basket.  I did make it for the charity fair that got cancelled so I will just have to eat the eggs myself and fill it with something different for June!. I cased this from here: http://www.sandimaciver.com/sandi_maciver/sizzix%20/,she has some really clear instructions so thank you Sandi.

I love making these baskets and they are very easy and sturdy so I am sure you will be seeing some more around.

The Big Shot - flower daisies #2 die

Sorry I haven't posted for a while I have been busy preparing displays for a craft table I was going to do at a local charity event. Unfortunately it has been cancelled but I hope to be doing it in June instead.  I have been making some flowers using my big shot and thought I'd try cutting different things.
Here is a flower I made from a pepsi max can, I was going to do a few but my husband had squashed the other cans and put them in the recycling! I'm going to make a wall hanging or mobile when I get some more cans.
The big shot cuts through the metal really easily - amazing.
I will post more things I've made tomorrow.  Bye for now

Artistic Etchings top note easel card

I have been playing again, this time with the artistic etchings stamp set, I love this set (just for a change!) it has a very arty look. I've only used some of the stamps up to now so definitely need more play time. I made an easel card using the top note die, this is dead easy to do and I think it looks really nice, it would also make a good name plate or little menu card if you were having a wedding.
Here's my card
I thought I'd do a card for the stampin challange again, this week you must use the colours very vanilla, wild wasabi, bravo burgandy and pink pirouette. I've never used bravo burgandy before and I really like it, especially the ink/marker pen it's quite a browny red and I thought it went well with the stamp set. The sentiment is from the Occasional Quotes hostess set.

Manhattan Rose - my first challange card

There is a new Stampin Challange blog - see the link on my side bar, so first time ever I have entered a stamping challange. I used the new manhattan rose embossing folder, after embossing I brayered the reverse side with so saffron and regal red then cut out and layered on very vanilla card.  There is a video on you tube with this technique, just search 'manhattan embossing folder and brayer' and you should find it.  I used the sketch on the challange as my layout, just changed it to horizontal.
Here's my card
Good luck to all the girls on the challange blog, why not have a look at their blog and have a go yourself?

Stampin Up! Baby blossoms

I have been playing with my new stuff, (in between listing a lot of parchment craft books and mags on ebay, I'm running out of space!).  The baby blossom set is gorgous, a 2 step set so you stamp the first image then stamp the second on top in a darker ink or you can use the same ink pad just stamp the first image on scrap before stamping on your card. I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line the images up, I stamped all of the images in the corners of squares of thick acetate, (cut up a sheet I bought from stationers for 25p) so now have permanent index cards to keep with the set.  Have I confused you yet? I will put up a quick tutorial on 2 step and stamp-a-ma-jig as it's great.
Here's the card
I randomly stamped on very vanilla card using regal rose, melon mamba, baja breeze, marina mist, old olive and pear pizzaz markers, then cut down a bit to mount on marina mist card and a scallop edge of regal rose then mounted on crumb cake.  I used the new seam binding ribbon, the sentiment is from the kimono kids set.
I had some scraps left from cutting the very vanilla and it was a shame to waste it so I used it in the insert - waste not want not.
I love this set so watch out for some more cards.  Bye for now.

The New Mini Catalogue is out today!

The new mini is out today, we now have the BIG SHOT which is a great die cutting machine and some exclusive dies and impression folders.  If you don't know what a die cutting machine is or what you can do with it watch this space, I will be telling you all about it, the dies cuts through card, paper, material thin metal, grungeboard, (about 50 different things) so it opens a whole new range of possibilities for your card making and scrap booking, sewing, patchwork etc. There are some beautiful stamp sets and that OWL punch everyone has been waiting for.  I just got some things yesterday so will be having a play and showing you what I've come up with so it's a great time to book a workshop and find out what you can do with the new products.
Here's a card that was demonstrated at our training in March, I couldn't post it till today.

It uses the four label stamp set and vintage spring DSP and the eautiful new seam binding ribbon, I've just bought  these with the matching label punch so will be posting some of my own creations soon.
Click on the mini catalogue link to have a browse and just contact me if you would like to order anything or book a workshop.  Bye for now, must get ready for work.
